Baptism

Baptism for infants is held in English on the 3rd Sunday of each month.  Prior to the baptism of your child, it is necessary to register for classes with the parish office.  Please bring a copy of the baby’s birth record with you at the time of registration for the classes.

Marriage

Couples should contact the parish at least 6 to 8 months before the wedding.

Anointing of the Sick

Please contact the parish office.

Is there anyone sick among you?  Let him send for the presbyters of the Church and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.  The prayer of faith will save the sick man and the Lord will raise him up.  If he has committed any sins, they will be forgiven him.”  (James 5:14-15)

Liturgical Ministries:

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion:

Through this ministry, laity assist the priest and deacons with the distribution of Holy Communion.  Ministers of the Eucharist assist at Sunday liturgies, weekday Masses and can assist in bringing Communion to our sick and homebound parishioners.  All confirmed Catholics who are in good standing with the Church and receive an invitation to this ministry by the pastor may serve our parish in this capacity.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion to the Homebound

Lay ministers of Holy Communion often serve our community by visiting the sick and shut-ins, both at home and at our local hospitals and nursing homes.  On a regular basis, ministers to the sick visit those assigned to them and bring with themselves, the care and compassion of their presence, the power of the word of God and the healing presence of Christ present in the Eucharist.

Lectors:

The ministry of Reader or Lector is dedicated to the clear, faithful and holy proclamation of the Word of God at Mass and other liturgical services.  Training classes are held annually and are open to all confirmed men and women who are in good standing with the church.

Ministers of Hospitality/Greeters:

This ministry serves to create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth and fellowship before, during and beyond the liturgical celebrations.  They help to welcome visitors and parishioners to weekend services and promote order throughout all liturgical celebrations.

Master Acolytes/Altar Servers

Master acolytes and altar servers assist the priest and deacons during liturgical celebrations of the parish.  Master acolytes are teens and young adults who are invited by the pastor to serve our community in this capacity.  Altar servers are youth, 10 yrs. of age or older who serve at Mass and other celebrations.

Music Ministry

“The entire worshipping assembly exercises a ministry of music.  Some members of the community, however, are recognized for the special gifts they exhibit in leading the musical praise and thanksgiving of Christian assemblies.  These are the pastoral musicians, whose ministry is especially cherished by the Church.” (Const. on the Sacred Liturgy).

At Notre Dame, we have a variety of choirs which serve our weekend liturgies.  The angel and archangel choirs are comprised of the youth of our parish.  Several adult choirs serve our community.  Musicians are always welcome.  For further information, we ask that you contact our music minister at 281-495-1256.
